Terasaki Hamono’s Tsume scissors, part of the Kenshi series. They were forged by hand using the traditional Sohizukuri method — iron and steel shaped without molds at around 1,000°C, hammered together the same way blades have been made in Japan for generations. The result is a level of spring strength, grip comfort, and edge detail that machine-made scissors can’t match. With careful use, a lifetime tool.
The Kenshi series offers three grip shapes — claw (tsume), long blade, and tapered. The claw blade is short and highly maneuverable, favored for detailed work. Tapered blades are popular with seamstresses and confectionery artisans.
